Dan has been responsible for incubating companies in a variety of industries including cannabis, education, real estate, lithium and senior care facilities.
Through his strategic direction and execution, these companies have grown from nominal value to over C$750M in enterprise value. Dan’s hard work and dedication has lead to Invictus growing from a C$1.5M dollar company, to currently a C$55M market-cap company.
Co-Founder and former CEO of PharmaCan Capital
Paul is a career entrepreneur and management consultant, as well as a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Over the last 5 years he has become one of Canada’s most active and diversified investors in the cannabis industry. Paul was a co-founder of PharmaCan Capital Corporation (ticker: MJN.V) from 2013 to 2016, a publicly traded merchant bank focused on Canada’s medical marijuana industry. Paul currently sits on the Board of iAnthus Capital Holdings (ticker: IAN.C), a publicly traded New York-based investment bank invested in several medical marijuana license-holding companies in the United States.
Paul also founded Skypad International (shopskypad.com) in 1999 and currently serves as CEO and Chairman of that company. Skypad is a leading global contract manufacturer focused on the hospitality industry and has been a vendor to over 2,000 hotels worldwide.
Paul acts as an advisor and management consultant to several companies in multiple industries including Sail Cannabis, Lift, Evio Beauty Group, LifeTagger, Evergreen Medicinal Supply, Tokyo Smoke, AAA Medic, Salvation Botanicals and Rock Garden.
Strategic Marketing & Branding Advisor
Lawrence Law is currently the Global Brand Director at one of world’s largest consumer goods company, which is focused on premium brands. He is responsible for strategy development, innovation and execution of marketing drivers for one of their key premium brands globally. During his 10 year tenure at the company, he created revolutionary routes to market exposure, vast growing network of retail experiences, and continued to consistently achieve double digit growth of their premium portfolio. Lawrence also brings a vast amount of advisory experience working with clients from all sectors including premium alcoholic spirit brands, banking, automotive, technology and luxury sectors, where he built a broad range of deep marketing skills across multi categories and business functions.
Acting as GTEC’s Strategic Marketing & Branding advisor (in his personal capacity), Lawrence brings with him a wide range of sector experience, especially in a highly regulated and competitive market, will be vital in shaping GTEC’s branding strategy. With the federal government likely to impose heavy restrictions on marketing and advertising in the future adult-use market, it is essential for GTEC to have the creative and experienced knowledge Lawrence brings to navigate through this new branding territory.
Compliance, Governance, Audit (Crowe McKay Lawyers)
Edward is the Practice Leader of Advisory Services for Crowe MacKay LLP, and as such he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of governance, risk and compliance engagements. Edward has nineteen years of legal experience, including fourteen of those in public practice assisting clients navigate the complexities of highly regulated industries. Edward has experience with the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and electrical / natural gas regulations (in Canada, United States, Caribbean and Belize). He has assisted clients with capital adequacy, establishing management systems to ensure data integrity, and carbon credit requirements. Edward’s expertise also spreads to tobacco tax recovery and advisory services, as well as innovative strategic tobacco tax planning and recovery opportunities for all jurisdictions in Canada and U.S, throughout all aspects of manufacturing, wholesale distributing and retailing. GTEC looks forward to leveraging Edward’s team for its various compliance needs within the cannabis industry.
Sepehr is a Toronto-based securities lawyer. Sepehr began his legal career with the leading global law firm, Baker & McKenzie International, before joining the Toronto Stock Exchange as Senior Manager of Listings where he was responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance of some of Canada’s largest public entities. During his tenure with the TMX Group, Sepehr helped lead the development of the business and legal framework for TSX Private Markets, a strategic initiative aimed at creating a centralized platform for Canadian investment dealers to distribute and trade private and unlisted securities. Since 2012, Sepehr has been Principal of Balmoral Law where, in addition to providing securities and listings advice, Sepehr assists clients with establishing partnerships, funds and various other business structures. Sepehr’s extensive knowledge of capital markets and securities law will be invaluable to GTEC.
Regulatory Compliance & New Cannabis Market Development
Mike is the Vice President of Cannabis Compliance Inc. (“CCI”), one of Canada’s most reputable cannabis consulting firms. Mike oversees the security aspects of all CCI’s cannabis projects. Since the Canadian cannabis regulations were published in 2013, he has worked with over fifty applicant producers and Licensed Producers, providing full security designs and technical proposals for their projects. He has designed large scale systems for companies such as Tweed, 7 Acres and Delshen Therapeutics, as well as providing security designs for dispensaries across North America. Prior to joining CCI full-time, Mike ran the medical marijuana divisions for two of the largest security firms in Canada. Mike is based out of Montreal, Quebec and is bilingual in French and English.
U.S. Business Development
Brandon recently served as the General Manager of Steve Nash Enterprises, where he was responsible for managing and providing growth strategies for the portfolio companies, including Indochino, Sharecare, the Vancouver Whitecaps, Onebode and the Steve Nash Sports Club and Fitness World. Brandon is a graduate of the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
Brandon served as a Board of Directors proxy for Steve Nash Sports Club and Fitness World, a growing chain fitness clubs in Vancouver co-founded by Mark Mastrov. He also ran Meathawk, a film production company that focuses on feature films and television and also develops and executes video content campaigns for companies like Toyota, Vitamin Water and EA Sports. Brandon serves on several Board of Directors for Liquid Nutrition, OneBode, and Anchor Capital Corporation where he advises several companies including Genexa, Made by Science and Work Force Athletics. Prior to joining Steve Nash Enterprises, Brandon provided investment banking services at Houlihan Lokey where he focused on Media, Sports and Entertainment.
Law Enforcement and Intelligence Specialist
Chris has been working in law enforcement for over 25 years, specializing in drug enforcement and organized crime investigation and disruption. He has experience working with law enforcement agencies across Canada, the United States and abroad.
Chris’ international experience includes working abroad on behalf of the Government of Canada in cooperation with foreign law enforcement and intelligence agencies, while as serving as a temporary foreign liaison officer in South-East Asia. Chris is passionate about assisting military and law enforcement veterans and those affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
